I am so excited to tell you all about my newest love, Pinterest. . What can I say is, I am ADDICTED (thanks to my dear friend Auburn for introducing me)! I am a true believer in vision boards and Ask, Believe, Receive and Pinterest helps with visualizing goals, dreams, and even ideas.

If you haven’t heard of Pinterest, let me be the first to tell you it is the ah-ha of vision boards. Pinterest allows you to “pin” pictures of ideas, recipes, products, quotes, and anything else you might have found on the internet that you would like keep. One you have an account set up, you can repin items that other members have added to their “boards” or add your own. Since I have joined, I don’t think there has been one day that I have not visited the site to see the latest pins! This site is not only for the creative, it is for everyone. Get inspired. The Ronnie Brewer Foundation: The Invitation

The master piece has been created and it is breath taking! This 5x7 black Vinyl envelopfold is the home of a tri-layered invitation, 3 insert cards, RSVP envelope, all enclosed with a double matted cardstock belly band. Each layer compliments the next, giving each invited guest a taste of what is to come at this anticipated North West Arkansas, July 30th event.

The crystal metallic linen invitation is double matted with Juipter and pattern Regalia cardstock, and is adorned with The Ronnie Brewer Foundation logo, created by Mikel Holloway.

Each insert card serves a specific purpose. The Juipter, metallic "The Event" card and Response card states extesive details and ticket information about the inaugural fundraising event in black thermograpy font. The crystal, metallic linen Accommodation card prepared the A-list visiting guest with hotel and transportation information. The crystal, metallic Response envelope adds one more touch of personaization for The Ronnie Brewer Foundation with the logo digitally printed on the back flap.

This event is going to be extravagant to say the least. There will be a silent auction and a live auction that will take place during this event. Items will include things such as autographed NBA jerseys from players such as Deron Williams and Paul Millsap, autographed basketball shoes, dinners at various restaurants, gift baskets from salons and much more!

This event is taking place in Fayetteville, AR at the Fayetteville Town Center. This event starts at 7pm on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Tickets are $100 and a table of 8 is $1000. NEW YORK CITY: HERE I COME--National Stationery Show

"PAPER POWER"

The National Stationery Show is my yearly creative refresher. It is a place where only people LOVE who paper can truly relate. It is a stationer’s own society. Rows and rows of vendors, just to cater to my stationery needs: printers, ribbon, adhesive, and PAPER!

This is the first year/time I have visited NYC by myself. I have friends in NYC, so I wasn’t too worried. It was very refreshing, just me and my thoughts.

I booked a hotel that was located in New Jersey only .50 of a mile away from the convention center. Once I got to NYC, I realized that I would have to CATCH THE FERRY to get to back and forth, but once I got the hang of it on day #1 it was great.

Brunch at Hell’s Kitchen with a group of ladies and gentleman (yes, one man) in the stationery business was the highlight of my trip. It is one thing to be a part of a group of people who understand and go through the same challenges that you do, but I could not have prayed for a better group of people to call a support network.
For the next two days, I browsed the 900 exhibitors at the National Stationery Show and visited with my NYC friends !!!!!

The You of A: Nicholas Glover Graduation from the University of Arkansas

My little brother, Nicholas Glover, graduated this past weekend from the University of Arkansas. I would like to say, he and I have started a family tradition attending the U of A. What a wonderful school, a wonderful experience, with wonderful memories, and wonderful friends with which to enter the world of life. As we prepared for Nick’s graduation, there was no question that I would design his graduation invitations and thank you cards. I arranged for his senior pictures to be taken on campus by Beth Marsh Photography. I wanted the invitation to represent Nick, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and the U of A, but I didn’t want the invitation to scream red and white, which are the colors of both.

The final creation is a 4x5 Metallic Burnt Sugar metallic Z-card, with a tri-layered invitation, matted picture, and front double layered tab.

After graduation, we celebrated Nick’s achievements with family and friends at Powerhouse Grill.

Oh, The Places You Will Go! GRADUATION INVITATIONS

Over the last month, I have been honored to create several graduation invitations for a few clients:

Clarrisa Purifoy, Masters in Business Administration at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock

Clarrisa contacted FM2Y for an invitation that would scream, I DID IT! Not wanting to go the traditional route of using the schools colors, Clarrisa chose a beautiful and bright arrangement for her announcement.

Jaylan Mason, Harbor High School, Springdale, Arkansas

Jaylan’s mom, Kelly, contacted me after seeing the “plain, boring, and expected” invitations provided by the school. Kelly gave me full creative rights to the invitation project. Knowing Jaylan personally, I knew that she had some great track and field achievements during her years at Harbor High School. The 5x7 tri-layered invitations reflect Harbor High’s school colors and mascot paw and the 2011 font has a letterman, athletic feel.

Team blue or team pink? Tricia and John Currier’s Cupcake and Cocktails Party

I was recently contacted by a 2010 FM2Y couple, John and Tricia Currier, to create a unique cupcake and cocktails invitation for their baby’s gender reveal party. After consulting with Tricia, I wanted to create something that was not expected by her guests. The final creation is a 4x9 double, metallic with a full bleed digital printed layered invitation. The invitation displayed unisex colors that would match the preselected paper goods and decorations. To add an extra little flare, each invitation was embellished with lime green Swarovski crystals on the cocktail. The orange metallic backing and bright metallic green mailing envelopes created a bold, festive vibe for the invited guests.

By the way.....it's a BOY! Congrats John and Tricia!

The Ronnie Brewer Foundation: the Save the Date

When Mrs. Carolyn Brewer contacted me on behalf of The Ronnie Brewer Foundation, elegance and charity is the combination she had in mind.

The July charity event at the Fayetteville Town Center will start the first building block for the Foundation's first project, donating a state-of-the-art gymnasium and life center to the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club. The Foundation will also be honoring vital staff members from the Fayetteville Youth Center, which is now closed.

The event's color scheme boldly represents Ronnie’s Chicago Bulls team colors and Mrs. Brewer happily picked out a stunning black and white Regalia pattern linen cardstock to create the pedestal for the event’s stationery suite. The metallic linen Save the Date is double matted on metallic black Vinyl and pattern card stock. The Jupiter belly band can be removed by each invited guest, revealing additional information for the event; all enclosed in a metallic Jupiter mailing envelope.

Kristen Wilkins and Kerry Harris

This past weekend, I had the honor of attending Kristen Wilkins and Kerry Harris’ wedding at Colonial Court Celebrations in Bentonville, Arkansas. I have known Kristen for at least 8 years now, and as we have grown into “women” together (as friends and sorority sisters), I was honored when she asked me to create her wedding stationery.

When brainstorming on Kristen and Kerry’s color pallet, we discussed the importance of representing both of them and their journey together. Kristen is a fun, energetic spirit and knew from the beginning that she wanted green to represent her side of this love story. Kerry is the perfect calm, laid back match to even out the relationship; therefore, I thought a nice, masculine navy would be great fit.

The custom, pocketfold invitation prepared the guest for the beautiful, outside ceremony. The opal pocketfold invitation housed a tri-layered navy and serpentine monogrammed invitation. Kristen wanted the pattern to be one of the main focuses of the invitation; therefore, I repeated the pattern on the Direction card and the RSVP postcard. Each piece of stationery displayed an enriched navy, elegant fonts handpicked by the bride from our extensive font selection.

Stars, Stars, more Stars, and some sports...for our little ALL-STAR

My best friend from high school, Tajuana (I have five BFFs total), had her FIRST BABY in October! And it’s a BOY! I know I am late blogging this, but better late than never. I called Tajuana and asked her, “So chick, what is your theme and colors.“ She goes off on this tangent of All-Star sports but not really sports, but more stars and some sports, as in the Dallas Cowboys, but not really Dallas Cowboys. So, I’m thinking…..Ummmm Okay! After a twenty minute discussion on her theme, she advised me that her husband had recently painted the nursery. I'm thinking, now we are getting somewhere! Baby Trent’s room has been painted khaki, navy, and light blue.

So without her knowing what I was really up to, I started thinking of some creative ways to bring together stars and sports, but not really sports, but not really stars, and some Dallas Cowboys, but not really! LOL! As I created the invitation design over several weeks, leaving it and coming back to it, leaving it and coming back to it, I decided to leave the sports out and concentrate on the stars in different shades and sizes. Over the last ten years, I have grown to love Tajuana and if I don’t know anything else I know that she wanted to keep things SIMPLE but CUTE.

After a few samples, I decided on this one!

A single layered Quartz metallic cardstock with STARS!...adoring the colors of khaki, navy, and powder blue. The invitation was mailed in metallic khaki envelopes that included two navy stars surrounding the return address. Something extremely simple and cute for my best friend’s little All-Star…with SOME stars and SOME sports !

Ohhhh....to be ONE!

This cute 4x6 pool blue invitation box is the back drop of a triple layered matte invitation for the cutest little boy in the whole world, my nephew! For Kaleb’s first birthday, I decided to create an unforgettable invitation that would melt the hearts of those who love him the most. Filled with white confetti paper, the blue box provides a festive bedding for the invitation. To create additional celebration to the outside of the box, a bright red ribbon secures it closed and is topped with a matted wallet size picture of the birthday boy!

Shhhh….It’s a Surprise!

It has been a busy month in the FM2Y studio! Here are two surprise birthday party invitations that will surely shock these birthday men! This 4x9 black vinyl folded invitation sets the tone for a sleek, stylish night on the town. The front panel is accessorized with double layered cardstock that displays the honoree’s name and initials.

Once opened the handsome metallic Jupiter invitation is matted on metallic textured linen cardstock. The invitation is accompanied by a matching 4x5 metallic textured linen double sided RSVP postcard for guest to return! All enclosed in a 4x9 metallic Jupiter mailing envelope.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This 5x7 triple layered invitation is sure to announce any royal event. The top layer resembles 24kt gold with its shinny metallic luster. The age of the honoree and the surrounding quote gives this invitation a personal touch that is sure to make anyone feel extremely special.

To add a dramatic touch, the invitation is then matted on a black layer to coordinate with the printing and fonts. The last layer is a double side pattern cardstock that displays a royal metallic purple on one side and a gold and purple damask print on the reverse. A 3.5x5 insert card of double layered metallics displayed the special menu that will be prepared for this grand event. The invitation suite was then enclosed in a 5x7 antique gold mailing envelope.

2011 Color of the Year is…

It has been officially released! Pantone announced that HONEYSUCKLE is the 2011 COLOR OF THE YEAR!

I am so excited that Pantone has picked a hue of pink for 2011. Out with the teals, turquoises, and ocean blues and in with the corals and salmon pinks! This color is sure to change the wedding world for 2011. It is exciting, uplifting, and full of spirit. How will brides pair it in 2011? With creams and taupes, or shades of yellows, GRAY would be really pretty, or even complement it with a softer shade aqua. The possibilities are endless.

What happens in Vegas, will go down in history….Yvonne Nichols Bachelorette Party Weekend Invitations

A lot of things have been happening in my best friend’s lives these days, Tajuana is having her first baby and Yvonne (the best friend from corporate America) is ENGAGED! Yvonne is the best friend that loves the idea of me having a business…"cutting, gluing, and pasting" as she calls it, however she is the one that is anti-creativity so it is like pulling teeth when it’s time to recruit “free friendship labor” to attack a HUGE ORDER! I don’t know if she realizes that “gluing and pasting” are the same thing, but we love her and her passionate comments…LOL.

So it is time for the MAID OF HONOR…that would YOUR’S TRULY…of course…to create a jazzy and chic Save the Date for Yvonne’s Bachelorette Party Weekend in VEGAS! She wanted to be budget conscience of her bridal party and her closest friends, therefore we decided to send out an official Save the Date an year in advance for the unforgettable weekend. Something that would scream…GET READY TO HAVE SOME FUN!!!!!!!!!.......

A tri-fold black and white printed card with a double layered invitation, displaying a martini glass and playing cards. To create a personalized effect, each invitation displays the name of invitee on their invitation. Several pops of BLING enhance the invitation to give it that VEGAS, girly feel. On the left side of the invitation, a tentative schedule of the weekend’s events. If the invitations are this fun, can you just imagine……Oh what fun we will have.

Labor of Love Couple #2: LaTisha and Adrian

LaTisha Brunson and Adrian Smith approached me in March to create an invitation that would set the stage for their peacock themed wedding. Their dream wedding would reveal the colors of teal, purple, silver, green, while enhanced with peacock feathers.

At our first consultation, the couple presented me with two words SIMPLE and DIFFERENT. As we all know peacock feathers are a new wedding “FAD”, and Adrian insisted that the invitations did not replicate any of the “Peacock Invitations” that were on the internet and that real peacock feathers were incorporated in the invitations. Wanting to present the couple with an invitation that they would love and enjoy, I just had to wait on the new line of cardstock colors to be presented by Envelopments in the late spring. After much anticipation, I created……

A two layered teal and silver metallic invitation, with a gorgeous peacock feather tucked into a knotted green ribbon that surrounds the invitation. Travel directions and response information was also printed on the Dragonfly cardstock and information for the guest to RSVP on the couple’s website was printed on a metallic silver insert card. Each website RSVP card was personalized with the invitee’s name and RSVP login code.

**Just a side note*** The teal cardstock used is not your ordinary metallic paper. It was and of course is the famous Dragonfly by Envelopments. A shiny, metallic cardstock that has a fabulous silky appeal that enhances the dark teal color. This paper makes anyone in the stationery business….want to cry tears of joy! Finally a teal cardstock that is sophisticated, pretty and true to color! Okay, okay enough about the paper! Back to the invitation…..

Now one more “POP” of color to bring the whole look together…..dark purple envelopes! The envelopes precisely matched the font color of the bride and groom’s names on the invitation. This invitation reflects a wonderful couple who embraced a fantastic color pallet that reflects their BOLD love and passion for each other. Congratulations Adrian and LaTisha!

Labor of Love: A Labor Day Weekend full of Weddings!

I recently had the honor of designing two beautiful wedding invitations for two brides who will be marrying the loves of their lives on Labor Day Weekend. Today and next week, I will introduce you to the brides and their fiancés.

Labor of Love Couple #1:

Onika Jones and Richard Williams

Onika Jones approached me in late 2009, wanting FM2Y Creations to create her entire line of wedding stationery. Our first item on the list was…SAVE THE DATES. Wanting something classy and affective to go out at the first of the year (due to the wedding being on a holiday weekend), Onika and Richard decided on a chic, yet simple magnet Save the Date that highlighted their purple and brown color scheme. The Save the Dates were attached to a insert card that displayed the accommodation and website information for guest.

After researching several invitation formats and styles, Onika approached me with a list of items she would like revealed in her custom invitations….ribbon, vellum, a monogram, and some kind of layering effect, while creating a unforgettable ambiance of the couples theme “Real Dreams Come True.” After a few hours of brainstorming, Onika and I stumbled across the 2009 Christmas card that I created for all of my past customers. As soon as we had one glimpse of it, we knew that with a little tweaking here and a little redesign there…we had a MASTERPEICE!

A two layered metallic invitation, with an attached metallic vellum overlay that would display a beautiful “W” monogram, enclosed and perfected with a chocolate bowed ribbon. All items from Onika’s list were covered! The invitations would be complimented with lilac accommodation, direction, and information cards. Onika wanted to ensure that she would be able to read the names of the individuals who RSVPed, so I created personalized RSVP postcards with each invitee’s name. Each invitation was securely mailed in a metallic lilac envelope that was further enhanced with a metallic chocolate envelope liner.
